Insilicos Awarded Proteomics Grant
Seattle, 23 February 2005 - Insilicos today announced that the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute has awarded Insilicos a two-year grant to develop a general-purpose proteomics tool suite.
In collaboration with the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB), Insilicos will improve and extend the ISB’s revolutionary Trans-Proteomic Pipeline software. This XML-based proteomics tool suite includes modules to organize complex experiments, identify proteins, measure changes in regulation, and validate results. Insilicos will extend these tools to make them applicable to a wide range of experiments, equipment, and research environments.
"The Trans-Proteomic Pipeline is the only available tool suite of this breadth and capability," said Insilicos president Erik Nilsson. "this work will let biomedical researchers get the most out of proteomics experiments."
