Insilicos announces support for biotech data format
Seattle, 14 September 2005 - Seattle biotech company Insilicos today announced that Insilicos' biotech software tools now support mzData, a data standard developed by the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO). Support for this data format will make it easier to use Insilicos' tools in biomarker discovery and other biological research.
"In biotech, data analysis is often the bottleneck," said Insilicos' VP of Informatics Brian Pratt. "Insilicos supports data standards to allow researchers the flexibility they need to get the job done. mzData and other emerging standards will enable researchers to put the puzzle pieces together for exciting new research."
The improved products include InsilicosViewer, which is used by hundreds of research organizations to conduct biotech research. InsilicosViewer uses patent-pending technology to quickly retrieve and display complex proteomics experiments that may contain gigabytes of data. InsilicosViewer also supports the popular mzXML proteomics mass spectrometry data standard. InsilicosViewer is available for free at www.insilicos.com/products.html
This work was funded in part by a grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
